The Université Grenoble Alpes is one of the most important research clusters in the world. It is located in the heart of the Rhône-Alpes region and has obtained worldwide recognition in various scientific fields. The close connection between universities, leading research centers and first rate multinational companies makes this cluster one of the principal scientific centers in Europe and the first French public research cluster after Paris-Ile de France.
This Master’s degree relies on the Computer science and Mathematics laboratories of Grenoble, as well as the INRIA Rhônes-Alpes, the LabEx Persyval-lab and the Carnot Institute for Software and Intelligent Systems (LSI).
The main laboratories connected to the course are G-SCOP, Fourier Institute, Laboratory of Computer science of Grenoble, Laboratory Jean Kuntzmann, TIMA, TIMC, VERIMAG. These laboratories have a partnership with the CNRS, the INRIA and the university. They are at the heart of the city’s reputation for scientific excellence, and are also at the forefront of the national and international stage.
Thanks to these platforms and its attractive features (via pre-doctoral scholarships), the educational component of LabEx Persyval-lab supports projects that are identified beforehand and are a part of the university research program. Therefore, programs can back up the action teams of LabEx.
The program falls within the framework of regional research through the ARCs (Academic Research Communities) of the Rhône-Alpes region. Beyond the commitment of the teachers-researchers to these structures, the Master’s degree students get subventions to continue their studies at a Doctorate level. The program is naturally linked to the ARC 6 (in french) whose research topics are ICT and Innovative Computer science. Students can also sign up at the ARC 7 (in french, Innovations, Mobility, Territories and Urban Dynamics) and at the ARC 8 (in french, Industrialisation and Government Science).
